Synopsis

Crooked Tongue highlights the journey of self-discovery of a young adult Hispanic stutterer, his yearning to be able to speak freely, and the characters he meets along the way, including an alcoholic forty-something counselor and a reluctant Native American shaman. The death of his grandfather and the guilt he feels for not being able to help propels him on his journey. What is there about climbing the mountain that empowers him and allows him to speak freely?
