Official Rules
Ownership & Copyrights:
Individuals (or Organizations) submitting a film to the Southwest Association of Film (the Association) must either be credited as a writer, director, or producer. All images, music, and concepts must be original in nature or used under permission from the original artist. If there is debate upon any items presented in a film, proof of copyright, ownership, or permission for the materials in question will be required. PLAGIARISM IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN AND WILL DISQUALIFY ENTRIES.
Trail Dance reserves the right to use video and press materials for publicity and promotional purposes; in addition award winning entries may be INVITED to be included on a compilation DVD offered for rent. Filmmakers will not be compensated for any items used by the Trail Dance Film Festival. Materials Include, but are not limited to, promotional DVDs used for publicity purposes or DVDs distributed to video rental organizations. The Association will not sell or distribute any submission to any organization not outlined by these Official Rules & Regulations. Compilation DVDs will not be sold. SUBMITTERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPILATION DVD. IF SUBMITTERS AGREE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE COMPILATION DVD THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BE EXCLUSIVE IN THAT DISTRIBUTION.
Entry & Screening:
Entry & Screening materials will not be returned. All entries must be submitted on DVD, or MiniDV. Entry fees must be in U.S. Dollars and received in form of U.S. Bank Check or Money Order – Online payments may also be accepted. Entry fees are non-negotiable and non-refundable. All entries selected for screening receive two (2) full event passes in addition to other benefits. TRAIL DANCE FILM FESTIVAL DOES NOT ACCEPT PORNOGRAPHY or EXCESSIVE VULGARITY. Accepted entries will be requested to provide additional materials including Filmmaker-Director Bio, Black & White or Color still, and a Cast/Credit information sheet. Trail Dance will contact applicants at various times regarding their film, thus an e-mail address is required. Screening dates, times and number of screenings is at the sole discretion of the festival programmer. ALL FILMS MUST HAVE BEEN PRODUCED FOR LESS THAN $5,500,000.00usd. By signing and submitting an entry form, submitter expressly agrees to
be bound by the terms of the official rules and regulations including but not limited to release of their submission. Additionally, submitter expressly states that he/she/they have the authority to waive any interest, right, or claim of any other party may have with regard to their interest in the submission. Further submitters expressly aggress to defend and hold the Association harmless from any claim arising out the Associations use or release of the submission.
